about

Doug’s passion for aviation started very early in life, growing up around skydivers and pilots at a small grass airfield in West Virginia.

Following in the footsteps of his father, Doug started his flight training in the family Cessna 120 at age 14. His first instructor, a WWII veteran pilot, combined military style aerobatics with primary flight training. This training instilled a deep respect and dedication to airmanship, and Doug has been pursuing the perfection of his skills ever since.

Doug flies the German built Extra 300-S. Revered for its light weight, its agile “fingertip” handling, and its powerful engine, the Extra 300-S is specifically designed for competition and airshow aerobatics and built to withstand the stresses and demands of extreme maneuvers.

Doug lives with his wife and their three dogs in beautiful Saint Augustine, FL, where he trains year-round for aerobatic competitions and airshows. Doug also serves as airshow crew-chief and ferry pilot for his dear friend and mentor, world-renowned airshow pilot, Patty Wagstaff.

THE SHOW

Doug and his Extra 300-S offer a high-energy, and exhilarating aerobatic demonstration, combining elements of artistry and technical mastery.

The show is designed to fully display the capabilities of plane and pilot. The beautiful red, white, and blue paint scheme, combined with billowing smoke, make for an unforgettable and inspiring aerobatic demonstration.
